2016 Catena Alta Chardonnay
The 2016 Catena Alta Chardonnay comes from the foothills of the Andes in the Uco Valley, at 5,000 feet elevation. Catena is not only the #1 winery from Argentina, but through the hands and hearth of the winemaker Alejandro Vigil, they strive for excellence and innovation. In the words of Wine Advocate, Vigil is “one of the most passionate and intuitive winemakers on Earth, and he’s also completely crazy about wine”. With this wine, he seeks the finesse of the Burgundian style with white peach, mineral and flowers aromatics, while he imprints his distinctive character making it big, lush and exotic. This Chardonnay achieves the fruit purity and elegance from France, with the energy and complexity from California, at a fantastic price.

2013 Bruno Clair Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru
This Pinot Noir comes from a small Grand Cru plot at Chambertin Clos de Beze, from old vines going back to 1913. Two-thirds of the grapes are from vines planted over a hundred years ago, while the rest is 50 years old. The property owner, Bruno Clair, is an authentic vigneron and is aware of the uniqueness of these vineyards. Alongside his longtime winemaker, Philippe Brun, both embrace the simple philosophy of being true to the essence of each vineyard, which they do through organic practices. Both are admired locally and internationally for their experience and knowledge, as they are fully committed to making terroir-driven Pinot Noirs full of finesse and character. This 2013 shows many layers of pomegranate and red berry, spices, flowers, and tobacco, making it a complex and elegant wine. The medium-bodied palate with fine grippy tannin and vivid acidy typical from a colder harvest, balance the overall style, making it great to drink now or to hold for another 2-3 years of cellaring.

2010 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc
The 2010 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is a real star of Pessac-Leognan. Even more, like a real superstar! James Suckling rated it 97 points, while Robert Parker, Decanter Wine Enthusiast, Neal Martin’s Wine Journal, all agreed on rating it with 95 points. The Cathiard family, who acquired this once under-performing estate in 1990, has continuously been pushing quality limits to become simply one of the best producers of Bordeaux. This wonderful wine made with 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% of Sauvignon Gris isn't but a proof of it. It has an expressive nose of ripe citrus and yellow fruit, offering a soft texture and a full body, with a great lingering finish. 2010 was a fantastic vintage, and our team made sure to secure some bottles for you, making us the only retailer offering this stunning wine in the United States.
2006 Gosset Grand Millesime Vintage Brut
Gosset is one of Champagne’s most traditional houses, and its history traces back to the 16th century. The house style is one of the finely-sculpted wines that possess focus and power. They source their high-quality grapes mostly from premier cru and grand cru vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne. "With Gosset champagne, the wine comes first, and the bubbles come later." This is the motto of Gosset, to which cellarmaster Jean-Pierre Mareigner has remained faithful for more than 30 years. For this, he emphasizes the region's "mineral side.", always choosing to avoid malolactic fermentation, and aiming for Champagnes in a dry, vibrant style with relatively low dosage.
The 2006 Gosset Grand Millesime Vintage Brut is a blend of fifty-six percent Pinot Noir and forty-four percent Chardonnay. After eight years of fine lees aging and no malolactic fermentation, this wine stands powerful and full-bodied. This Champagne beautifully burst in the nose showing the fruit purity with notes of apple, peach and lemon zest, while expressing fantastic terroir transparency with mineral notes and a gentle smokiness. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, broad and creamy, with refined mouse and brisk acidity.
This Champagne is fresh but still textured and complex, and clearly expresses the real character of this Classic Champagne House. What's the best part of it? This wine delivers excellent quality, and costs a fraction of its counterparts! Find it at $79.94.
2015 Petrolo Galatrona
2015 Petrolo Galatrona is made from a single vineyard site located close to Petrolo's winery and is a 100% Merlot aged in one-third new French oak. It offers a solid proof that outside of Bordeaux, the world's most exceptional Merlot is produced in Tuscany.
The famous wine critic James Suckling rate it 99 points, claiming that in 2015 vintage "shows depth and power yet wonderful finesse and focus. Best ever.". Suckling's colleagues were entirely on the same page and awarded it with high scores as well. Jeb Dunnuck rated it 97 points, Robert Parker's 96 points, and Antonio Galloni 95 points. It is impossible to deny that it is indeed a Gem.
Due to Tuscany's unique sun exposure, this wine has established Merlot greatness in Italy, expressing a pleasurable characteristic of sweetness and layered flavors. "In addition to soft cherry and blackberry, you get Mediterranean herb, tobacco, and polished leather." (Monica Larner) Galatrona's first harvest was in 1994, and the wine was produced every year since then, except 1996 due to some hungry wild boars that eat all the grapes.
Many layers of sensual floral and red fruit aromas make it complex and beautiful. The velvety tannins add a fantastic texture and a lush character. Enjoy it now or keep it in the cellar to Drink from 2023. This 99-points wine is an absolute bargain at under $80.
